I have a few days remaining in this journey and the idea of that is what kept me motivated to continue working throughout the day. I am sure these next few days will be extremely productive and am eager to see what comes out of them.
Gambit
While I was in Seattle, I was able to finally get the acrylic top routed which allows me to insert the wires and sensing mechanism for the board. I made it out today to create a more finished feel of the board.
Adding in the supports and more firmly attaching the walls of the board was really great. The acrylic fit like a glove.
On top of just adding the acrylic top, I went ahead and created a script that allowed me to insert a coordinate which then moved the electromagnet to said coordinate. It was crazy to see the gantry system work as well as it did.
Although the acrylic fit extremely well within the chassis, the hall effect matrix I put together did not fit as well as I hoped it would within the cutout. This was due to the tolerances issues I knew would arise in using a 2x2 template to create an 8x8 array.
To resolve this, I am now going to have to spend a significant amount of time in the coming days redoing a few solders, but it is way easier than redoing the whole thing. I am eager to see it all come together.
SHPE
With this being my second to last week in CSTAT, I made it out to the SHPE office with Elizabeth, Vincent, and Evelyn. It was a bit surreal knowing that this would be one of the last few times in the office, but all good things must come to an end.
BUTLR
I started working on a project that I had shelved for a bit as I put my focus on other things. BUTLR, was a personal project that would enhance ones ability to plan things throughout their day. I am an avid believer in if you care about something, you will make time for it. This application would allow a user to structure their day in a manner that ensures the 24 hours one has in a day are used to revolve around what they are passionate about.
Habit Tracking
Today, I journaled, worked out, read, tracked my caloric intake, and worked on at least one of my personal projects. Today was a good day.
What I am thankful for
I am thankful the SHPE office. I have spent countless hours in their, forged some of my strongest relationships, and have some of the best memories while being inside that room.
